National soccer team's 'captain' Son Heung-min (Tottenham) took part in the 'Pass for Home' challenge to promote the Homeless World Cup.

The Seoul 2024 Homeless World Cup Organizing Committee announced on the 28th, "We will start the Pass for Home Challenge to create a

competitive atmosphere ahead of the Homeless World Cup to be held in September."

Son Heung-min participated in the challenge after being nominated by Lee Keun-ho, the organizing committee chairman and former Daegu FC

striker and member of the national soccer team.

In a video posted on the official social media of the Homeless World Cup, Son Heung-min cheered on the homeless participating in the competition,

saying in English, "Please pass the ball of hope to those around the world who dream of a new beginning."

He then said, "Hee-Chan Hwang, please receive my pass of hope and participate in the Pass for Home Challenge," and nominated his national

teammate Hee-Chan Hwang (Wolverhampton) as the next runner.

The Homeless World Cup is a competition co-hosted and organized by Big Issue Korea and the Homeless World Cup Foundation in the UK.

It started in 2003 with the purpose of attracting the necessary social attention and public support to solve the problem of homelessness, which is a

blind spot of housing rights.

The 19th Homeless World Cup, the first of its kind to be held in Asia, will be held from September 21 to 28 at Hanyang University Stadium in

Seongdong-gu, 안전한카지노 Seoul.

The tournament is played according to the 4-on-4 modified futsal rules called ‘street soccer’.

Four players, including a goalkeeper, play the game for seven minutes each half on a 22m long and 16m wide court, using the walls as well.

In this competition, 64 teams and 500 players from 49 countries around the world will participate. Of these, 20 are female teams, the largest number

ever.

The Korean team considers those who are in the blind spot of housing rights, such as youth preparing for independence, youth at risk, youth outside

the home, migrant workers, and refugees, to be the “homeless in a broad sense,” and is receiving applications to participate in the national team from

these groups.

If you are selected as a Homeless World Cup player, you must participate in training for two months.
